re: Mythologý - Raider application DPS feral Druid - ACCEPTED

This is a vent application, done by Tethane and Everlightly, so any typos are my fault!

1. What is your name, age and location?
Sweden, 24, Bjorn

2. What is your characters name, level, class, spec and professions? Also list any alt's (please provide us with a link to your armoury.)

Feral Druid, 85, skinning and mining.
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/emerald-dream/mytholog%C3%BD/simple

I have an alt mage just for fun (Ardethbay)

3. Why are you applying to Forsaken Enlightenment and what are your expectations from the guild?

Because looking for a raid friendly environment and haven't had any luck with other guilds.

4. Do you know any current Guild member and how did you hear about us?

I don't know anyone and I heard about you from trade, I have spoken with Tethane and Everlightly on vent to do this application.

5. What other guilds have you been in and why did you leave them? Do you currently have any other applications pending with other guilds?

Envoys of the End but didn't require feral druids for raiding, I am currently unguilded.

6. Tell us what special qualities you will bring to Forsaken Enlightenment.

I hope to succeed in the raids and be a loyal member and to get to know everyone and have a good time, have been playing wow for 5 years and really looking for a good group of people to spend more wow time with.

7. Are you interested in becoming a social or raiding member of Forsaken Enlightenment, if social thank you for your application, if raiding please complete the next section.

I am applying as a Raiding member.

Questions for raiders only:

What is your raiding spec and your duel spec if you have one, which do you prefer to play and why?

Feral druid kitty form for my main spec and I have no offspec at the moment.

How do you keep yourself up to date on the latest developments of your class? Do you visit any websites for this?

I have many friends that play feral druid and we talk I also use MMO champion and other sites to keep uptodate with gear and class requirement.

Comment on your talents and glyphs. Why did you choose them? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those?

I chose the a balance between dps and survivability for my spec.

Do you have control of your own time i.e. if you sign and are selected for a raid can you guarantee (disasters and acts of god permitting) that you will be available until raid end time.

I do have control of my own game time, work until 2pm in the afternoon so have all day and all evenings to do with what I like.

When are you usually available for raiding (specific days of the week and preferred hours) have you taken note of our raiding days and do they fit into your schedule?

Obviously holiday periods can be tricky but other than that I am fine with all your raid times.

What add-ons do you like to use for raids?

Omen, recount (but just for fun) and DBM amongst other more UI focussed ones.

What raiding experience do you have and what role has this been in?

All the Wrath raids but not the LK, the guild I was in never could manage to complete him. In Cata BH, but again have been unguilded and pug's dont seem to have much success other than trash runs.

What raids do you believe you are geared for?

I think I am geared for all of them on normal mode.

Have you tried and/or completed any raid achievements and hard modes? What do you think of them and would you like to try more in the future?

I haven't done any raid achievements as yet but would really like to do some.

Some difficult scenarios

An Officer or fellow member offers you some advice on how to improve your play, be it through rotations, talents or gem and enchant suggestions, how do you feel?

Any information that improves my gear/spec from an more experienced player I listen, it would be foolish to ignore them!

An item that you desperately want drops you register your interest but the loot council awards it to another player as is it a bigger upgrade or their attendance has been better, how do you react?

The first thing that would pop into my mind would be "damn" but there is always next time!

In order to balance a raid for an encounter or because there are far to many signs the raidleader places you on standby for the second time running, but another member of your class is in the raid for the third time in a row. What do you do?

Its never fun to be on standby and would probably discuss with raid leader, but its not the end of the world. But there is always something else to do in game!

After a heavy night of raiding another member makes a comment about your performance which may not be called for, how do you react?

I would probably have a little chat to discuss performance but I wouldn't get to angry about it.

We are wiping..... all night...... getting the raid and the tactics right, your repair bill is going through the roof and not much progression is happening, how do you feel?

Better start farming for some more cash. Wiping is just improving your skills to get it right next time, no pain no gain!

Decent... yeah! Yet not the word you want to use after reading an application though. Am on iphone gf so can not look you up on wowheroes, have you fully gemmed and enchanted your gear? Gearing up my druid to be able to tank and heal raids, so loving the feral class, but why do you not have a second spec? I see that you seek balance between dps and suvivability, why? If you would concentrate fully on dps what would you change?

Firstly Hi, Im Jon, and yes this is a nice app and you have made a good start and good first impressions with Tethane and Everlightly on Vent.

Reading your app I see

"Because looking for a raid friendly environment and haven't had any luck with other guilds"

Can you elaborate on this please? When you say havn't had any luck do you mean with the people in the guild, finding a guild, guild progression?

Also I think it would enchance your chances of completing any trial that may be given if you consider either a resto or tank OS. I would personally say tank as at the moment we don't have a raiding Bear, and as you know tanks can be hard to come by. But hey either or will help.

Looking at your feral spec I agree with Bennied, as DPS you don't really want to be looking at survivability, that's our healers job and if we die its either their fault or we have stood in something nasty, other than that really you need to be pumping out the DPS, especially on fights like Cho'gall were every deep counts.

That being said your Talent spec is almost the same as the one forums say is best for kitty dps, your glyphs however could do with a bit of a looking at to maximize your dps.

Would you consider giving Rip/Shred/Tiger's fury for prime glyphs.

Using shred instead of Magle looks like it would increase your dps in the long run, as the refresh on the rip would surely mean that button click being used elsewere.

Rebirth , Entangling roots, and feral charge for major glyphs

Rebirth Can literally be the difference between a kill and a wipe, I personally think essential

especially when coupled with

Unburdened rebirth for minor and whichever others you care to use Happy

This is taken from EJ
"Glyph of Rip and Glyph of Shred are your top 2 glyphs at all times (unless of course you're unable to use one or the other. The third glyph spot is close and under various circumstances can be Tiger's Fury, Berserk, or Savage Roar. Mangle is almost never worth using."

and according to them this would be your ideal rotation

1. Keep up Mangle
2. Use Tiger's Fury on cooldown
3. Use Berserk on cooldown
4. Keep up a 5CP Rip
5. Keep up Rake
6. Keep up Savage Roar
7. Shred for combo points

Ok taking all that onboard I am going to say yes to this app, can never have to many raiders Happy Im sorry if my wall of text seemed a bit odd, just trying to show how you can improve you play and chance of a spot Happy

Good luck

Hi, there.

Nice application but i fell over the same things as Jon (Sherawr) pointed out already.

You're spec is good enough, i use it myself aswel and it's somewhat the best combo to have atm. Your glyphs on the other hand do need changing if you want to maximize your DPS output. The best spot to check up on the latest feral kitty mechanics is Elitist jerks (as pointed out by Sherawr already).

Also i'd say drop your glyph of feral charge and get glyph of rebirth. This is a life saver in raids and makes the healers ALOT happier, since we get a new person back with full health instead of 20%. There is really no debate not to do it.

One last somewhat big concern. Why haven't your reforged any of your items with only crit/haste on it to Mastery? As a kitty your top Stat is Mastery (After Agi ofc). Care to explain or give your view on it? ^^

Gl with your App and awaiting your reply Happy

This chap is good enough and gemmed/gear for starting to raid, I'm sure dps wise this well get better, bjorn was very plesant to chat to on ventrilo aswell so he gets a thumbs up from me

I'm regards to peters comment about battle rez and low dps output. Feral dps when played correctly can give and class a run for their money, also with the state of sings a feral dps in raid is better than no dps as thats whats happening at the moment with the lack of signs. Also last sunday we had no druids in the raid and that was 23 guild members and 3 pugs
